Being A Better Writer Starts With You
Do you want to write better and more engaging articles and content? Besides getting your message across, you would want your call to action actioned as well, wouldn't you? If you want to be able to write better, then it should start with you.
Your readers, even your potential clients or customers, would read what you have written for a reason. The reason why they read is because they want to gain something from it. What they want is to gain something. They are not interested in your motivations and goals. How your writing can benefit them is what they would want to find out. People tend to be greedy. Even when they are not trying to be. Their greed is at a subconscious level.
How many times have you read an article or blog and stopped reading half way through? How many times have you thought "God this person likes to talk about himself"? Then there are conversations when someone else always talk about themselves and you may hate these as well.
You Should Always Focus on Your Reader
When you are writing, and especially when you are writing to sell something, focus on your reader. They would only care about how great your product will be to them and they may not care about how great your product is. Try to use the words "you" and "your." You should make your reader feel great about how much this will benefit them.
You can even do a test. What you can do is try different versions of your writing and see which will perform best. Who knows, the results may even surprise you. If you minimize the use of "I," "we," and "our" and increase the use of "you" and "your," then it's likely your sales could increase to 60% or even more. That's a lot!
Ask Questions
Asking your readers questions is also a great way to engage them. You should try to make them think. Make them ask the questions YOU WANT THEM TO ASK! Questions that YOU have an answer for. Have a specific call to action and lead them down the path.
Use these techniques in your articles to drive more visitors to your website and on your website itself to increase conversions and boost sales! If you want to reap the benefits, always keep the customer in the back of your mind as you are writing.
